Our Initial Consultation Process

1. Discussion of Health and Symptoms

Your chiropractic journey begins with a detailed discussion of your health, lifestyle, and current symptoms. This helps your chiropractor understand your needs and tailor your treatment for the best results.

2. Physical, Posture and Movement Exam

We carry out an assessment of posture, movement, and spinal alignment to identify areas of tension or restriction. This allows for a more accurate and effective chiropractic approach.

3. First Chiropractic Treatment

If clinically appropriate, you’ll receive your first personalised chiropractic treatment. Using safe, evidence-based techniques, we focus on easing pain, restoring movement, and improving overall function.

4. Aftercare and Home Advice

After your session, we’ll provide simple aftercare guidance — including stretches, exercises, and lifestyle tips — to help you maintain progress and prevent future discomfort.

5. Treatment Plan and Recommendation

To support lasting results, we’ll outline a personalised treatment plan. Whether you’re seeking pain relief, posture improvement, or ongoing maintenance, we’ll guide you toward better movement and wellbeing.

What Does A Treatment From A Chiropractor Involve?

  • A variety of soft tissue techniques
  • Joint mobilisation techniques
  • Posture and ergonomic advice
  • Supportive taping (such as kinesio-taping)
  • Dry needling (that is also known as medical acupuncture)
  • Tailored rehabilitation and exercises specific to your case
  • General advice, information and education regarding your issue

Our Approach To Chiropractic And How Our Chiropractors Could Help You…
At The Hanham Clinic we pride ourselves on treating the underlying cause of the problem and not just the symptoms. We offer individual lifestyle advice regarding exercise, work and diet in order to support a programme of treatment and reduce the risk of a condition returning. Rehabilitation can play an important part in this. For many long-standing conditions there is not a simple cure but through a variety of different methods our chiropractors support patients to be able to self-manage their problems. Above all, we understand that most people consult us for pain relief, and it is always our initial aim to resolve those painful symptoms.
